From a 47 year-old woman with two children:

I was on muscle relaxants when I was first diagnosed at 20. Haven't taken any Rx except for sinus provlems over the years. It wasn't until I saw a chiropractor that I began to put my sinus problems and TMJ together. In the past 2 years I've had 2 migrain type attacks, second was worse than th e1st, that woke me out of a sound sleep and I couldn't get any relief for 3 hours. Then the pain dulled and I was able to sleep. I even tried heating pads and ice packs to get relief.

I know I got my TMJ when I was working for Pacific Telephone when I was 19 and 20.

They had headsets they used in the 40's and it was so heavy it pushed my jaw out of wack.

The company tried to say I always had it, but I had dental x-rays going back to age 2 and nothing like that showed.

I was forced out of my job. Never did anything about it.

I'm now 47 years old and a woman with 2 grown children and raising a grandchild..
