In a recent conversation, a TMJ Patient brought to our attention that he had made a donation to JJAMD for the Milton and Renée Glass Family TMJD Fellowship at Forsyth. He wondered why JJAMD had not acknowledged his donation.
The Donor Form was printed on some promotional/fundraising materials published and distributed by The Forsyth Institute. This has caused some confusion. We discovered that his donation had been sent to Forsyth, and learned that they acknowledged it as a donation to the Institute. They did not inform us, and because we were not aware it had been received, we were unable to thank the donor. We now realize that this might apply to other donors, as well, and we want to be able to personally thank each of you.

If you made such a donation and have not been acknowledged by JJAMD, please accept our apologies. E-mail details of your donation to TMJoints@aol.com. This will allow JJAMD to acknowledge your kind donation, and to keep you up to date on the progress of the TMJD Fellowship.

In the near future, the TMJD Fellowship Donor Form will be revised to appear only on JJAMD’s website, so that all future donations will be processed by JJAMD, and earmarked specifically for the Glass TMJD Fellowship Fund.

GOOD NEWS: In the very short time since the implementation of our independent Fellowship in 2005, it has created a lot of enthusiastic support, even in Washington, because it has the potential to help break the logjam of heretofore untapped knowledge from more appropriate research of our very complex controversial health issues, help bring the Medical Professions to work alongside the Dental Professions, and to help de-mystify and to help resolve The TMJ/TMJD Dilemma. It has the potential to "legitimize" your health issues and allow you to access your entitlements.

Our Fellow, Lin Xu, MD/PhD has already been part of two JJAMD-Forsyth seminars, a lecture at Forsyth, and two at Tufts University. She has already discovered a gene to slow down deterioration of the Jaw Joints. An article should be published soon in a major medical journal. We will report out more in he near future.

Your contributions and support have helped make this new innovative research possible to help resolve The TMJ/TMJD Dilemma.
