Hi everybody, this is Lisa again from the entry oct 22nd 2002, which should sadly let everyone know that like for everyone else the battle continues, I have tmj resulting from my eagles syndrome, but here's the kicker, the guy he sent me to said he didn't believe eagles syndrome caused pain, that as a teacher it was probably just stress, that I was young and pretty, and thin and that it shouldn't be bothering me. specialist 3 said that it was just tmj and I should wear the splint, and again that I was young and pretty and that no one would perform the stylodotomy, because i would have a big scar, so try the splint, finally I freaked out and told him that my neck feels like I have a nuckle banging into my jaw. He made me an appointment with the facial pain clinic, but only after I told him that I am getting very depressed and suicidal,of course I have to wait 6months to get into the clinic. The clicking and knocking in my jaw are driving me nuts as they are audible from about 10 ft away, and when I eat people stare, the ligament is pinging on my facial nerves and I occasionally At the clinic they are going to try the steroid injections but I have heard that it's just another goose chase. I do have one thing to metion that I noticed people have written on the board quite a bit that might be helpful. I was reading in some of the lietrature that many of the jaw problems may be caused by how wide the dentist opens your mouth during procedures. They said that some of them are also caused by the trauma of regular surgery when they crank your neck back and your jaw open to get the tubes down your throat.
